Everyday is the Weekend
We legit don’t know what day it is around here. We celebrated Easter last Sunday with our egg hunt, oops! That’s what happens when you look at a calendar never.
Speaking of Sundays, we are loving worshipping at home with Gary administering the sacrament to our little family. The first week didn’t go very well, everyone was grumpy and we were probably too casual about it, but we made some changes like getting dressed in our Sunday best and having “church” at a scheduled time which made a big difference in bringing the Spirit. The service is short and sweet with some songs, prayers, sacrament, and discussing the scriptures.
We are getting in the Easter spirit (again) with this, this, and this.
I’ll be making this Alton Brown carrot cake for the first time. No raisins, woot!
Join me for a worldwide fast for Covid-19 this Friday. “I invite all, including those not of our faith, to fast and pray on Good Friday, April 10, that the present pandemic may be controlled, caregivers protected, the economy strengthened and life normalized.” -President Russell M. Nelson of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
Gary and I watched Bethany Hamilton’s surfing documentary, Unstoppable, the other day (she’s the girl who lost an arm to a shark). So inspiring! We are going to watch it with our girls.
My goal is to finish painting the laundry room this weekend, same color as the rest of our house, Benjamin Moore OC-117 Simply White.
I’m back at school for spring quarter, all online. I definitely prefer being in a classroom and being able to problem solve and interact with my peers, so this will be a challenge. It will also be interesting having the kids home all day with me, my creativity thrives when I have time to myself. Governor Inslee announced this week the schools will remain closed through the end of the school year. Wish me luck, I’m gonna need it!
